Anna Maria Anderson was born in Västergötland, Sweden, December 7, 1870. She came to America at the age of eleven together with her parents. After a brief stay in Minneapolis the family settled on a farm south of Dassel., and obtained membership in the Stockholm Lutheran Church where Anna was confirmed. Later their membership was transferred to the First Lutheran Church of Dassel, and until her death Miss Anderson remained a member of this church.
She was also a faithful daughter in the home, remaining with her aged parents until their decease. Her mother passed away in 1918, and her father in 1919. Since then she has made her home with her brother-in-law, John F. Carlson, and his daughter.
Miss Anderson passed away at the Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, March 19. 1937, trusting in the only Savior, Jesus Christ, and experiencing His peace, which the forgiveness of sins secures. At the time of her death she was 66 years, 3 months and 12 days. She leaves two brothers, Carl August of Minneapolis, and Alfred in Alaska, three nieces and one nephew, as well as a number of other relatives and friends.
Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Larson and daughters, Ruth and Luella, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Larson, Mr. and Mrs. H. Berg and Leonore, Mrs. C. A. Nelson, Mr. Throndson and Mrs. Wm. Belin, all from Minneapolis.

Anna never married and lived with her family in rural Dassel in a townsite known as Collinwood. After her father's death, she moved in with a brother-in-law in Dassel.
