Meeker County Minnesota Cemeteries: Volume 2 - Compiled by Diane Rosenow, briefly listed Johannes on page 58. He was shown to be here, buried at Steelsville, without publishing any known dates on his birth or death.

Johannes was the son of Per Jacobsson/born in Skarstad 14 Sep 1812 - 20 Jan 1862 Skarstad and his wife Annika/born 10 Sep 1808, Bitterna, Skaraborg, Sweden... (Andersdotter, Bengsdotter and Flodig were seen on different likely records, each being noted at some point, to be her last/surname?).

Johannes married Johanna Olofsdotter at her home parish - Södra Kedum, Skaraborgs Län, on 23 Oct 1868. The couple settled down in Skarstad and were found to have had the following children, as noted in those Swedish Church Book records...

Per Alfred 19 Dec 1869 - "Peter"
Johan Oscar 26 Nov 1871 - "John"
*****Sven (born 21 Jan 1874, died in Sweden on 22 May 1876)
Alma Carolina 30 Oct 1876
Ida Matilda 6 Jun 1878
Sven 2 Jun 1882 - "Swan"

Johannes and his son Johan were recorded to have moved out from their Swedish community on 25 April 1883/destination Norra Amerika. Johanna and their other children left the following year, at the end of September 1884.

John's family were found in the 1885 Dassel census under the name Parson/listed as family #151. On the 15th of April 1886 another son was born. Joining their family was Enok Ernest Pierson/as known on his WWI Draft Registration. Earnest Enock Pearson appears to be his name however on his Minnesota Death Index, 1908-2002?

The 1895 Dassel census is the last record found for Johannes to be living with other family members. Here a familiar name is seen once again, thus another variation is found for recording the family name to change or be different.

John P. Flodig/age 55, Sweden/1840
Johanna Flodig/age 52, Sweden/1843
Swen Flodig/age 13, Sweden/1882
Enoch Flodig/age 9, Minnesota/1886

In the 1900 Federal census Johanna was found to be a widow, living in Bogus Brook, Mille Lacs County with her eldest and youngest sons. These details can be seen on Peter Alfred Olander's memorial.

Flodig/Flodi and Olander sound very much like "Swedish Soldier" names... perhaps Johannes and some of his children, chose to take their ancestors' names here in America? Other children are known to have used Pierson, Person and Pearson on their records, or further passed along these variations as their family names...
