MRS. G. O. GRANATH CALLED SATURDAY
Young Dassel Mother Passed Away Last Saturday From Cancer

Mrs. Gothfrid O. Granath, living southeast of Dassel, died at her home Saturday after four months of illness, at the age of thirty two years, six months and fifteen days. She was born near Sisseton, S. D., July 27, 1899, and grew to womanhood there, being confirmed in the Norwegian Lutheran church of that place on December 13th, 1914. She moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Severt Larson, to Minneapolis in 1919, where she attended Minnesota College and later was employed.

She married Gothfrid Granath Dec. 22, 1923. Four children were born to this union, one of whom, Orville, preceded her in death. She was a fine Christian woman, a devoted wife and mother, and is deeply mourned by her husband, the three children, Wallace, Louise and Marian; her parents, three brothers, Louis Harry and Sam, and one sister, Mrs. Roy Jernall.

The funeral was held Tuesday from the home and from the First Lutheran church, of which she was a valued member. Rev. F. William Hanson conducted the last sad rites, assisted by Rev. Theo. J. Paulson. Special music was furnished by Mrs. C. J. Peterson, C. W. Johnson and the church choir. Reverends Hanson and Paulson sang solos at the home. The many beautiful floral tributes attested the love and esteem of relatives and friends. She was laid to rest in the Steelesville cemetery.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Larson, Henry Larson, Ole Larson and Minnie Larson, all of New Effington, South Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. Severt Larson and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Larson of Hinckley, Minnesota; Axel Granath of Evanston, Illinois; O. E. Westerland of Red Wing, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. I. T. Bartlett, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Baker, Fred Walin, Roy Walin, and Alma Kvitrud, Dr. and Mrs. Roy Jernall, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Isaacson.
