Daniel Danielson obituary reads: one of the oldest settlers of this community, died at his home 1 mile south of Dassel, at 5pm on Friday October 2, 1908, after a short illness of only 24 hours of stomach trouble. He was almost 67 years old. Considered one of the most reliable and popular farmers of this vicinity and numbered his friends by the score, the splendid character of his family is a monument to his great worth as a father and citizen. The church funeral service was crowded to the doors by the sympathizing friends and neighbors. He was born in Vermland, Sweden in 1841 and came to this country in 1870, locating at Duluth where he lived for about 3 years. He came to Dassel in 1873 and has live here ever since on the farm just south of town. He leaves a wife, 3 daughters and 3 sons to mourn his loss. Besides a brother, John Johnson of Seattle, Washington and 5 sisters: Mrs. (Anna C.) Matt Anderson of Kingston, Mrs. (Agnetha) Henry Miller of Dassel, Mrs. Claus Johnson of Duluth, Mrs. John Anderson of Anacortes, Cal, and Mrs. Bengt Johnson of Alabama.
