Obituary – John August Ahlstrom

A Sudden Death - John Ahlstrom dies very suddenly of Heart Failure shortly after Dinner Monday.

It was a great shock to this community to hear of the sudden death of John Ahlstrom which occurred at his home in Collinwood Monday Noon. Deceased had been in his usual health and the call came without the slightest warning. He had finished his dinner and stepped outside for something. He came in again and sat down by the stove and suddenly fell forward and expired almost instantly.

Mr. Ahlstrom was one of the most popular farmers of this community and a man of modest unassuming disposition. For the past six years he has held a position of trust for Walter Gregory of Minneapolis as manager of his farm in Collinwood. He had resigned that post and he and his wife were to have moved next week to his newly purchased farm in Greenleaf. Deceased was 40 years of age and leaves a wife, brother and a sister to mourn his loss.

The funeral took place yesterday afternoon from the Swedish Lutheran church, Rev. J. W. Lundgren officiating.

The Anchor joins in extending the sympathy of the community to the bereaved wife and relatives in their hour of sudden sorrow.
