Funeral Services For Him Were Conducted Yesterday Afternoon
After an illness of several years, Leonard Bergquist of Steelesville, passed away last Saturday, September 7th at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ada Sand, in Minneapolis. He was 47 years, eight months and eight days old at the time of his death.
Deceased was born on December 29, 1887 to Axel and Hulda (Swanson) Bergquist at Steelesville and grew to manhood there. He had made his home in that community all of his life. Quiet and unassuming, he made friends with all who knew him and his passing is regretted by the community.
His mother passed away about 20 years ago and he is survived by his father, seven sisters, Mrs. Carl Olerud of Kathryn, North Dakota, Mrs. Fred Lindquist of Northwood, Iowa, Mrs. Elmer Anders of Lake Jennie, Mrs. Arnold Lundahl of Stockholm, Mrs. Ada Sand and Miss Selma Bergquist of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Clarie McCleary of Long Beach, California; two brothers, John and Arthur of Dassel.
Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon fro the home and from the First Lutheran Church with Reverend F. Wm. Hanson officiating. Special music was furnished by the church choir and a solo was sung by C. W. Johnson. Interment was made at the Steelesville Cemetery.
