Services conducted for Herman Peterson
Herman Peterson, 93, Dassel, died Nov 24 at the Dassel Lakeside Community Home where he had been a resident. Services were conducted Nov. 27 from Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Dassel, with Pastor Charles Humphrey officiating. Melba Anderson and Joan Benson were soloists, and Florine Osness was the organist. Casket bearers were Alan Peterson, Douglas Peterson, Lee Peterson, Carl Rick, Barry Rick and Bill Nagorski. Interment was in Steelesville Cemetery, rural Dassel. Herman Hilding Peterson was born Aug. 18, 1891, at Steelesville, Collinwood Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. His parents were Oscar and Maria (Boo) Peterson. On Dec. 14, 1916, he was married to Ruth Bollman at Dassel. He resided on the family farm in the Steelesville area of Collinwood Township, south of Dassel, his entire life with the exception of the past two years when he was a resident of the Dassel Lakeside Community Home. He had been engaged in farming. He was a life-long member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and was a member of the choir for 30 years. Survivors include two sons, Vincent (Karl) and Bernard of Dassel; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Marie) Rick of Forest City; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth, who died in 1944; three brothers, Carl, Joseph and Albert, and two sisters, Sigrid and Alfhild.
